Monk Joinery is a family-run business proudly based near Saffron Walden, where we have been crafting bespoke joinery for over 30 years. From handmade bespoke kitchens, wooden doors, and custom furniture to wooden windows, flooring and specialist work on listed buildings and period properties, every project is made to measure in our three modern workshops, allowing us to take on larger and more complex commissions. Led by Gary Monk, who brings over 30 years of experience, our skilled local team is passionate about fine craftsmanship, using sustainably sourced materials and offering a friendly, personal service from design to installation. We also provide spray-painting services for bespoke items and furniture, ensuring a flawless finish. GARY MONK
Gary brings over 30 years of experience in the joinery trade. Over the course of his career, he has developed a broad and highly skilled craftsmanship, with particular expertise in bespoke furniture and luxury handmade kitchens. His attention to detail and passion for fine joinery are evident in every project he undertakes.
SIMON FOSTER
With more than 20 years in the joinery trade, Simon has been our company foreman for over a decade. He has a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of joinery and takes great pride in overseeing each project from raw materials through to the finished product. His skill, enthusiasm, and approachable nature make him a valued member of the team.
TOM JACKSON
Tom is a qualified joiner with an NVQ Level 3 and nearly six years of formal qualification experience. Having been part of our team for over nine years since starting his apprenticeship, he has grown into a knowledgeable and well-rounded craftsman. Known for his strong attention to detail, Tom enjoys working within a friendly, local team environment.
LEWIS HALL
Lewis has over 20 years of experience in the trade and holds an NVQ Level 3 qualification. He has been with our company for more than seven years and possesses extensive knowledge across all areas of joinery. Lewis has a particular passion for bespoke and complex-shaped work, where his artistic flair, precision, and enthusiasm truly stand out.
